Marrissard grafted chestnut tree chestnut production is good to excellent of large to very large chestnuts starting at the age of 3-64 years. Nut fall is usually late October. One of the best European x Japanese hybrid chestnut trees for chestnut blight areas with warm to hot summers. Marrissard does not produce much pollen.

The Marrissard chestnut tree of European x Japanese hybrid cultivar producing a tall spreading sized chestnut tree with heights reaching 60 feet or more and 25-35 feet wide. The tree can be kept pruned to the size that fits your location. Winter cold/freeze damage can occur when winter temps drop below -15 F. Root rot resistance is good to excellent.
