Chestnut tree propagated from a chestnut harvested our chestnut trees, sprouted, and grown for a year to make a seedling chestnut tree with some of the genetic traits of the European mother chestnut tree. Typical hight 18" tall.
The tree can be kept pruned to the size that fits your location. Winter cold/freeze damage can occur when winter temps drop below -20 F. Chestnut blight resistance is unknown. To produce nuts you will need at least 2 trees with one of them producing pollen (For Pacific Northwest growers these cultivars can be used as pollinators Marival, Prococe Migoule, Basalta #3, Marigoule, Marsol, Yooma, and Okie).
