We offer both seedling and grafted chestnut trees for sale. All of these chestnut trees have been tested for good to excellent nut production in most of the USA (lower 48 states). We have over 30 different cultivars in our nursery to fit most any growing conditions, growth characteristics, and nut quality.

American Chestnut Tree <  3 ft
American Chestnut tree (pure - not hybridiized). Winter hardy to -30 F. You need at least 2 trees to produce nuts. Seedling will start producing chestnuts in as soon as 5 years to more than 10 years. Basalta #2 Chestnut Grafted Tree
Bisalta #2 grafted chestnut tree is a tree produced from a chestnut harvested from a Bisalta #2 chestnut tree, sprouted, and then when the seedling is of proper size is grafted with wood from the mother tree. This is a poor pollen producing chestnut tree. The height to width is 1' up for 1' out. Nut production is good to excellent of large chestnuts that fall free from the burr starting at the age of 1-3 years. Full production in 8 - 15 years depending on the location. Nut fall is usually early to mid October. Nut quality is excellent with it being one of the best fresh eating chestnuts we produce and is easy to peal. Bouche de Betizac Chestnut Grafted Tree
The Bouche de Betizac is a consistent producer of large chestnuts. Even when a cold growing season comes along this chestnut tree still produces nuts. Nuts fall free of the burr and fall mid season.
